The Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE) invites academics, practitioners, and students to submit proposals for its next annual conference, to be held May 28–31, 2026, at Boston University.
The conference theme, “Wicked Good Approaches: The Future of Arts Administration,” reflects a distinctly Boston flavor and encourages submissions that present, test, or explore innovative, bold, critical, ingenious, disruptive, or radically good approaches in teaching, research, and creative practice in arts administration.
We’re excited to once again feature a Pecha Kucha session—a dynamic presentation format where speakers share 20 slides for 20 seconds each, maintaining a fast-paced, engaging, and visually appealing presentation style.
We welcome both domestic and global perspectives for all proposals. Students and first-time presenters are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to apply to present a Pecha Kucha.
Whether you join us as a presenter or attendee, we promise you “a wicked good time” in Boston, home to a rich history of higher education, vibrant cultural scenes, world-class cultural institutions, and a thriving arts and creative sector. From the Museum of Fine Arts and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum to neighborhood galleries, live performances, public art, and diverse architectural styles, Boston offers an inspiring backdrop for reimagining the future of the arts management field.
Fun fact: For those unfamiliar with the phrase “wicked good,” it’s Boston slang used as an intensifier. Read more here.
Submit your proposal no later than January 13, 2026 at this link.
