2024-2025 Additional Information - Nominated Individuals

Persons willing to be entered into the nomination process should be familiar with the governance structure of AAAE (https://artsadministration.org/board/) and be willing to volunteer personal time and financial support to assist the organization in reaching its stated goals. Self-nominations are encouraged.

AAAE Criteria for Office

Criteria for Office:

a. AAAE acknowledges that the strength and effectiveness of its Board are directly related to the balance, experience, and diversity of individual Directors, as well as their commitment to dedicating the necessary time and attention to overseeing the organization's affairs. The Board Development Committee is responsible for assessing the current Board composition and identifying any missing qualities or characteristics. The criteria for office, which are clearly outlined on the Election Application and Nomination Forms, include the following considerations:

i. Diversity of age; geography, ethnic/racial/gender identity

ii. Program and/or organization type and size

iii. Professional and/or academic experience

iv. Management or other leadership experience outside of AAAE

v. Demonstrated engagement with AAAE via committee participation, conference attendance and/or participation, or other forms of engagement. Note: While prior engagement is not necessary, it is looked upon as an asset for nominees.

vi. A clearly articulated vision of a potential contribution that is aligned with AAAE's mission.

vii. Personal and professional conduct is consistent with the mission and purpose of AAAE

Disqualifying Criteria:

a. Nominees will be disqualified for incomplete application materials or failure to submit materials by the stated deadline.

b. Failure to pay AAAE member dues and remain in good standing with the organization will result in disqualification.

c. Conduct raising concerns about a nominee's ability to act in a manner consistent with AAAE's mission and purpose or concerns that a nominee's presence on the Board of Directors might adversely reflect upon AAAE will be grounds for disqualification.

AAAE Statement of Confidentiality

By its nature, the nominating process requires a high degree of confidentiality, especially with regard to the nominee deliberations and vote totals. All teleconferences, discussions and deliberations involving nominees, candidates, vote totals, and other sensitive items related to the nomination process, must remain confidential.
