QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor-level degree, and/or strong evidence of significant experience in the field of arts event management and administration (facilities, performing arts, special events); strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; excellent communication skills (written and verbal); proficiency in Microsoft tools and other software supportive of arts-administrative project management; knowledge and understanding of the technical needs of a theater facility; an open-minded learner with comfortability to change; must be a committed follower of Christ.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of the Murray Arts Center, this position is responsible for the daily business operations of the theater and event-area facility - including scheduling and rental of spaces, management of events (internal and external), staffing of events, and all other concerns and activities relating to use of the facility. Non-traditional hours and weekend work is normative in this role. The Associate Director collaborates heavily with the Murray Arts Center Audio and Technical managers to nurture and ensure: operational efficiencies and transparency; clear communications with internal and external constituents using the facility; and, mission alignment of all events and activities of the Murray Arts Center.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting equipment, boxes, and other packages not exceeding 50 lbs (males) and 25 lbs (females); boxes heavier than 50 pounds should be lifted while wearing a back brace; excellent cognitive and hearing abilities.
KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES – The Assistant Director will collaborate in the management of the following duties under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Murray Arts Center
Ministering to students compassionately and sincerely so they may continue to grow in their faith.
Accepting the work at Mount Paran Christian School as a personal calling and identify themselves as ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Coordination of technical and non-instructional facilities staff, to include full-, part-time, and independent contractors for internal and external events
Manage facility use requests
Development of quotes and contracts for third-party facility usage
Creation and tracking of event files for each event
Coordination of set-ups for events
Scheduling and usage of all areas of the facility
Creation and management of calendar of events for the facility
Coordination with business office for issuance of invoices for third-party rentals
Development of new revenue-producing businesses
Develop vendor relationships including independent tech contractors, technical service vendors, and caterers
Provision of Front of House services for internal and external events
Confirms insurance coverage of all renters/users and vendors through procurement COI copies, or issuance of special event coverage policies
Maintains ongoing event inventory of facility assets excluding technical equipment (managed by technical director)
Event management of all events and activities in the facility – internal and external
Coordinates with technical director to ensure compliance with state and federal health and safety guidelines for use of technical equipment and space
Showing support and high esteem for MPCS
Complying with conditions as stated in employee contract and handbook
Modeling appropriate Christian behavior in speech and actions
Any other duties as assigned
Other duties assigned by the MAC Executive Director
